The entire school building, including the two lately completed class rooms, now shines in green and orange, the colors of our school!

June 2010

New borehole finally operating!

  

After finally receiving official approval, as well as completing all installations, our new borehole was put into operation on June 23, 2010. Drawing from 500 ft deep, it delivers plenty of water, so that we no longer depend on supply from outside! In addition, we continue to collect rain water in our 100.000 liter underground cistern.

Bathrooms moved to new toilet block, freeing up space for two extra classrooms

  

A new toilet block was completed and put into operation. The previous bathrooms were then converted into classrooms. This solution proved much cheaper than the construction of new rooms, which is however still envisioned (and needed) to eventually accommodate all classes. Sunrise School at Garden Grove, Kitengela is now attended by 138 children.

January 2010

New school year started with 2 more classrooms, number of children increasing

  

With the start of the new school year, many new children are admitted. Just in time, the two new classrooms are ready for use.

Building Progress at Kitengela - 2 new classrooms nearing completion

  

The builders are busy as the two new classrooms near completion. They will be ready for the new school year starting in January. The foundations for the further extension of the building have been laid.

Building Progress at Kitengela - 2 more classrooms under construction

  

To meet the growing demand, two new classrooms are now being built. They are planned for completion by beginning of 2010, in order to be available for the new school year.
