New school building at Kitengela up and running

The School building at Kitengela

In January, the first class at our new school opened, starting with just three children. Meanwhile, there are eight (age 3-7), who attend a common class, divided into two age groups. Once the upper level is completed (planned for August), we will have four classrooms, so that the children can then be sorted into classes according their age.

Recent unrest

During the post-election riots early this year, our Sunrise of Africa School Board had started an international "Prayer Team" for Kenya and about 20 devoted Christian Scientists prayed and shared inspiring ideas about Kenya, while Kofi Annan and his team were working with the two sides to negotiate a healing settlement. As a result, we now have a joint government of national unity.
Meanwhile we look back and are in awe at the fact that God guided us to buy our land in Kitengela, East of Nairobi, which is cosmopolitan, with many different tribes living there. This area was completely untouched by the troubles. Thus the new School has commenced and will have a bright future!
